Marketing for small businesses

Marketing that does its homework.

Brain Otter is one app for a small business's marketing. It studies your business and your competitors, writes articles that only say what your business can back up, and publishes them to your own website. Then it keeps your social posts, bookings and follow-ups moving.

Brain Otter is in early use with a small group of businesses. We aren't opening new accounts yet.

Article Example

A first-timer's guide to booking a massage

  1. Researched the topicWhat people search for and what competing pages cover
  2. Written in your voiceFrom your profile, offers and the facts you gave it
  3. Checked against your claims rulesAnything it can't back up is flagged for you
  4. Published to your website's blogThen shared in social posts that link back to it

What it does

The jobs a small business usually spreads across five tools and a spare evening, in one place.

  • Research

Looks at your business, your competitors and what your customers search for, and shows you where each finding came from.

  • Articles that follow your rules

You set what the business can and can never say. Every article and post is checked against those rules before it goes out.

  • Published to your own website

Articles go straight onto your site's blog, so the visits and the search rankings build up on your domain.

  • Social posts

Write a post yourself or have it drafted from an article, then publish or schedule it to the accounts you connect.

  • A booking site

Clients book your services online and get their own accounts to see and change their appointments.

  • Automations, workflows and email

Set up the repeat work once: follow-up emails and texts, reminders, and jobs that keep your articles up to date.

How it works

  1. Tell it about your business

Your services, your story, the facts you can prove and the things you never want said. That becomes the rulebook for everything it writes.

  2. Choose what to make

Pick a topic, an article or a set of posts. You see the price before anything paid runs, and automations stay inside a budget you set.

  3. It publishes and keeps track

Your articles and posts go out on their own, on your schedule. If something fails to publish, you get an email; nothing is quietly dropped.

Careful by design

Brain Otter doesn't make things up. Every idea shows its source and date, estimates are labelled as estimates, and the business owner has the final say on what goes out under their name.
